🎋 What is Siamsee?

Siamsee (เซียมซี, pronounced "see-um-see") is a traditional fortune-telling practice from Thailand and China, performed for centuries at temples. Worshippers kneel before a Buddha image or guardian deity, shake a bamboo cup filled with numbered sticks, and let one stick fall out — revealing their fortune for the day, week, or specific question.

Each stick (1-32 in our deck) corresponds to a traditional poem and interpretation, covering general fortune, love, career, money, and a lucky number.

📿 The Origin Story

Siamsee likely arrived in Thailand from Southern China, where the practice is known as "kau cim" (求簽 — "to seek a sign"). The Thai version evolved with its own poetic style and 32 sticks (rather than the 100 common in China).

Each stick's meaning carries Buddhist, Taoist, and folk wisdom — often invoking nature imagery like the lotus, dragon, mountain, or storm. The poems are intentionally open to interpretation, so the seeker reflects on which meaning resonates with their current question.

🙏 How to Read Your Siamsee Wisely

1. Set your question silently before shaking. Be specific — "What should I focus on this week?" is better than "Tell me everything."
2. Read the full poem, not just the verdict. Imagery matters.
3. Look for patterns: if 3 different aspects (love, work, money) all point the same direction, that's significant.
4. Take it as guidance, not prophecy. The cards reflect current energy; your actions shape the outcome.
5. If the prediction feels harsh, ask: what's the warning, and what can I do today to soften it?
